When using any equipment, personal and equipment safety must be taken into consideration. So, what precautions should be taken when using a shearing machine?
1. Before idling the shearing machine for a trial run, manually rotate the shearing machine through one stroke and confirm that it is functioning normally before starting the machine.
2. For equipment with hydraulic systems, the oil tank should have sufficient oil. After starting the oil pump, check the valves and piping for leaks and ensure that the pressure meets the required requirements. Open the exhaust valve to expel air from the system.
1. Shears are not allowed to cut overlapping platens, trim the edges of rough-edged plate, or cut loose, narrow, or short plates.
2. The blade clearance should be adjusted according to the plate thickness, but should not exceed 1/30 of the plate thickness. The blades should be securely fastened, and the upper and lower blades should be parallel. After alignment, perform a manual turning check to avoid accidents.
3. The blade edge of the shearing machine should be kept sharp. If the blade edge is dull or cracked, it should be replaced promptly.
4. During shearing, the press must hold the sheet material firmly in place. Shearing is prohibited if it is loose.
5. For equipment with hydraulic devices, adjustments to other hydraulic valves, except the throttle valve, are not permitted.
6. The thickness of the shear plate used by a hydraulic swing shear should be determined based on the "Sheet Material Ultimate Strength vs. Thickness Curve."
Before operation, wear protective clothing with cuffs fastened. Do not open the top or bottom hem of your coat. Avoid dressing, removing, or changing clothing near a running shearing machine, or wearing a blanket around yourself, to prevent machine injuries. Always wear a safety helmet, tuck your braid inside, and avoid wearing skirts or slippers.
Shearing machine operators must be familiar with the machine's main structure, performance, and operation.
Shearing machines are suitable for shearing various copper, aluminum, and non-metallic materials within the machine's rated thickness. Materials must be free of hard marks, welding slag, slag inclusions, or weld seams. Excessive thickness is not permitted.
How to use a shear: Adjust the blade gap according to the thickness of the material being cut; adjust the guide or clamp according to the width of the material being cut. Before operating the shear, run it dry 1-3 times. Only operate the shear after it is operating normally.
If the machine is operating abnormally, immediately disconnect the power supply and stop for inspection.
When adjusting the shear, always disconnect the power supply. Be careful to avoid accidents when moving workpieces.
All shear components should be lubricated regularly. Operators should add lubricant once per shift, and mechanics should lubricate the rolling bearings every six months.
